Inspiring 9-Year-Old Raises Nearly $80,000 to Protect Police Dogs with Bulletproof Vests
Many youngsters often dream of becoming police officers when they grow up, but this nine-year-old is currently exploring police departments.
Brady Snakovsky, hailing from Strongsville, Ohio, isn’t your typical third-grader. With aspirations of becoming a police officer, Brady was watching his favorite police show, Live PD, when he noticed that a K-9 officer on the program wasn’t wearing a bulletproof vest. This stirred him to take action.
Brady approached his mother with the idea of purchasing a vest for a K-9 officer in need. However, they soon discovered that these vests were quite costly. In response, they founded a nonprofit organization called “Brady’s K9 Fund” and initiated a GoFundMe campaign.
The campaign has achieved remarkable success thus far. According to Brady’s mother, Leah Tornabene, they have raised a substantial sum and have provided 79 vests to various police departments, including the Mendon Police Division, which expressed its gratitude on Twitter, saying, “K9 Officer Pichel and K9 Brady would like to thank a very special boy, Brady Snakovsky. Brady donated a LOF Defence Road Fighter Vest to the Mendon Police Division K9 Unit. #BradysK9Fund.”
